Given his connections, Butch Cassidy will be popular on handicap debut and he does look potentially well treated on his penultimate run. However, SAVANTE looks like she has turned a corner in recent starts and she may be able to supplement her impressive Navan win. Joyau De Thaix and Ney could go well, as could Prends Garde A Toi if he is on a going day. [Dave Stephens] Show less
Spotlight: Touched off in a 3m Listed handicap hurdle at Leopardstown (heavy) in February off 121; made amends in a mares' handicap chase at Navan (20.5f, sft-hvy) later that month, winning readily by 9l; hiked up 10lb to 122 and steps back up in trip; could be more to come.
Spotlight: Bumper and maiden hurdle winner; best chase effort came over 2m7f on heavy in a Punchestown beginners' on penultimate when 3.75l behind the now 142-rated Kurasso Blue (received 8lb); not as good at Gowran latest (2m4f, heavy) but could be on a nice mark for handicap debut based on that Punchestown run.
Spotlight: Maiden went close to landing breakthrough win at Leopardstown (24.5f, yielding) in December off 3lb lower; unseated over 2m in a beginners' here, then finished a modest fourth over 3m6f at Cheltenham; 6lb lower here but needs to find extra to shed the maiden tag.
Spotlight: Four-time point-to-point winner gained first chase win under rules' on latest at Limerick (24.5f, sft-hvy); raised 6lb for that and this is a deeper race; will need a big career-best to follow up.
Spotlight: Two-time hurdle winner landed a first chase success in a Leopardstown beginners' last month (21.5f, yielding) with Killaney King over 7l back in third; has won at this trip over hurdles and his opening chase mark looks fair; ground fine too and could go well.
Spotlight: Inconsistent since opening chase account in a beginners' at Naas in December (2m4f, heavy); ran well when a 5.75l fourth of 14 in a valuable handicap at Punchestown in February but pulled up at Cheltenham on latest; capable of better and preferred by Jack Kennedy.
Spotlight: Bumper and maiden hurdle winner, both at Ayr; best of three chase efforts came at Haydock in December when 2l behind the 124-rated Lario; has run well here over timber and he can't be fully dismissed in a new headgear combination.
Spotlight: Point-to-point winner yet to get his head in front under rules; promise in both chase starts and weighted to close the 7.75l gap to Joyau De Thaix who won the beginners' chase he contested at Leopardstown last time.
Spotlight: One of his three hurdles wins came here, as did his only success over fences in a beginners' in October (2m5f, yielding); well beaten in a 2m5f novice here and a Grade 3 at Thurles and stamina to prove in first handicap chase.
Spotlight: Bumper and maiden hurdle winner is 0-6 over fences; ran well in a beginners' here in November but beaten 21l and pulled up in first two handicap chases at Punchestown and Cheltenham; others have more appealing profiles.
Spotlight: Useful performer for Henry Daly, winning six races, including an Ascot handicap chase; modest form in two starts for this stable, albeit trip and testing ground probably not ideal on latest; new cheekpieces need to spark.
Spotlight: Bumper and two-time hurdle winner; 0-14 in chases but has run well in defeat at times, most notably over 3m6f at the Cheltenham Festival in 2025 and when a neck second in the Porterstown here last November (3m6f, yielding); out of sorts in three runs since, though, and needs to rediscover best.
Spotlight: 0-8 over fences and hasn't won since scoring over hurdles at Ayr in April 2024; failed to complete in two of three starts this season and beaten 63l at Leopardstown when he did get around; top yard and mark tumbling but hard to make a case for on form.
Spotlight: Two-time chase winner; fine effort when runner-up in a Cartmel handicap chase in June 2025 but only seen three times since and well beaten both starts in 2026, over hurdles at Haydock and in the Kim Muir at Cheltenham; needs to rediscover best.
Spotlight: 2-6 over fences; won back to back races at Punchestown (22.5f, soft) and a novice here (3m2f, soft) last year; modest enough form this season but did run a nice race when a 5.5l second of 13 on penultimate at Punchestown (22.5f, sft-hvy); not as good back there on latest but could rebound.
Spotlight: Three-time hurdles winner for Gary Moore; yet to get his head in front in six chase runs; soundly beaten both completed starts for this stable and pulled up on latest at Navan (3m, heavy); leap of faith required to back him here.
Spotlight: Won a handicap hurdle on first start for this yard at Punchestown in February; won a beginners' chase for Liam O'Brien in October 2024; has run well here before but well beaten last twice over timber and this looks too demanding; cheekpieces go on.
Spotlight: Promise here on seasonal reappearance; failed to build on that on next four starts but signs of a revival when staying on for a 9.5l fourth back here (3m, heavy) on latest; blinkers could eke out more but he's 7lb wrong and looks up against it.
